sounds – 18 | fuse

Bengal, the North East, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh remain on top of mind now, constantly. This “obsession”/craving for this part of the world started with discovering Bipul Chettri last year.

I’ve gone deeper down this rabbit hole, toward the raw sounds of Moheener Ghoraguli.

Does half the beauty here lie in the seeking out of the obscure, the unknown? How have we missed acts like this?

How do you break down echo chambers of thoughts, where ideas are fed in separate silos?

More.

For a short history on music in these parts in recent years, see contemporary Bengali music as social commentary.
